New Albany Community Foundation Annual Fundraiser

A Remarkable Evening

The New Albany Community Foundation's annual fundraiser, A Remarkable Evening, blends intellectually stimulating and entertaining programming with supporting worthy community causes such as the Library Book Collection, the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts and a myriad of other enriching programs.

Past guest lecturers have included Pulitzer Prize winners, authors Doris Kearns Goodwin, David McCullough and Michael Beschloss, the late playwright Wendy Wasserstein, Irish Tenor Dr. Ronan Tynan, award winning author John Irving and author and leadership expert Walter Isaacson.

Last year, more than 370 guests attended this event which featured Presidential Historian and Author Michael Beschloss. His two most recent books include Presidential Courage (2007) and The Conquerors (2002) which are both on The New York Times Bestseller list. Also featured in the evening was the presentation of the Jeanne and John G. McCoy Community Service Award to community leader and founder of the New Albany Walking Club and New Albany Walking Classic Dr. Phil Heit. Over $390,000 was raised to benefit the New Albany Community Foundation and the many school and community projects it supports in New Albany.

This year’s event promises to be equally exciting so stay tuned for the announcement of this year’s featured guest speaker.
